Closing Date: 12th October 2024   Based: The office is in Bath but volunteers are based all over the country and events take place nationwide.

The National Heritage Ironwork Group seeks to appoint a new Treasurer. This is a volunteer post ideal for someone from a financial or general business background who has an interest in traditional crafts or historic buildings. Location is not important as the majority of our meetings are online, although we try to meet up in person once or twice a year.

We are a small educational charity dedicated to the needs of the sector, and committed to preserving our outstanding ironwork heritage for future generations. Our Council is made up of around 20 volunteers from a variety of professional fields including blacksmithing, education, architecture, and engineering. They share a passion for historic ironwork, high-level craftsmanship and the passing on of traditional skills. We have one part-time member of staff who coordinates the work of the Group which includes: holding education & training events, publishing guidance resources, running an award scheme, and more recently piloting an accreditation scheme for blacksmith conservators.
