The Weekend Day Centre for Dementia Care (WDC) are seeking a Treasurer to join our board of Trustees and lead on financial governance for the organisation, providing guidance to other board members and oversight of the charity’s finances and annual budgeting processes
The Weekend Day Centre for Dementia Care is small charity based in Stockport that provides an informal social day care service for people living with dementia. Founded over 33 years ago originally to provide weekend day care, in 2021 we were able to secure the lease on a building and extend the service we offer to 5 days per week. All staff are employed and include the Operations Manager, Deputy Operations Manager, Finance Administrator and Support Care Workers.
We currently have 5-6 Board meetings a year, usually either at the centre in Stockport or virtually. The Treasurer will need to collaborate with the Finance Administrator regarding things such as client invoicing and will need to understand how the local council commission and fund care. Knowledge of Quickbooks whilst not essential would be an advantage.
