The British Council for Yoga Therapy (BCYT) accredits the Yoga Therapist training courses offered by its member organisations. Yoga therapists who graduate from our members can register with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council, a Register accredited by the UK Professional Standards Authority for Health and Social Care. As well as providing this key link in Government-recognised voluntary regulation, BCYT also has a mission to promote the benefits of individual yoga therapy to the medical sector and to the wider public.
BCYT’s finances are very simple with a low volume of transactions to manage and a very small asset base. The time required monthly to administer this role is minimal, with some additional time annually for membership fee collection and AGM report presentation.
You will nonetheless be occupying a key role in the management of BCYT and helping to increase the coverage and adoption of yoga therapy in the UK, thus bringing its benefits to more people.
BCYT’s General Meetings are held every two months on Zoom, with Treasurer attendance optional, except for the AGM. Otherwise, financial updates are requested ad hoc when requested, such as when annual membership fees are due.
