About Disability Equals Ability (DEA)
Disability Equals Ability is a growing UK-registered charity dedicated to breaking down the barriers faced by disabled people. We believe in a world where disability equals ability, and we work to make this vision a reality through education, advocacy, and community-driven projects in the UK and Africa.
We are seeking a committed and skilled Honorary Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees. This is a voluntary, strategic governance role that is central to ensuring the integrity, transparency, and long-term financial sustainability of our organisation.
We’re looking for a finance professional to join our board of trustees. You don’t need to have been a trustee before. You should have a good understanding of charity accounts.
As Treasurer, you will be the financial conscience of DEA, providing oversight and guidance to ensure our resources are managed responsibly and effectively to maximise impact. You will play a key role in:
- Supporting and advising fellow Trustees and the Executive Team on financial matters.
- Overseeing financial planning, risk management, and
- Building donor and funder confidence through transparent financial
- Helping shape strategic decisions to safeguard DEA’s
We welcome applications from finance professionals with experience in accountancy, financial management, or charity finance. You should bring:
- Strong financial acumen with the ability to explain financial information
- Integrity, independence, and a commitment to DEA’s
- A collaborative approach, working closely with Trustees and the Executive
- Previous charity finance experience (desirable but not essential).
