Closing Date:  Open.  Based: Across the district of  East Hampshire

Citizens Advice East Hampshire is a local but professional charity providing advice and support to people with the problems they face including debt, housing, employment and welfare benefits. We are members of the national Citizens Advice charity, which means we have access to their services, resources and support but as an independent charity, we are responsible for running our own affairs within agreed standards. We have 5 staff (full time equivalent) and 70 volunteers, a core budget of £385,000 and operate from 3 main locations as well as online and by phone.

We are looking for a new Treasurer (unpaid role) to join our Board of Trustees to help guide and advise us on the financial health of this organisation. Responsibilities include presentation of the management accounts at board meetings, helping to prepare the annual budget and annual report and advising on the corrective action that may be required when difficulties arise. The treasurer will not be expected to do book-keeping or be an accountant but must have a good understanding of financial control and collective board responsibility.
