Closing Date: 31 March 2025. Based: Eyam , Peak District, Derbyshire
Eyam Museum is a small museum in the heart of the Peak District, with over 36,000 visitors per year. Set up in 1994 to tell the story of the plague in Eyam (1665-66), it also showcases the area’s local history and geology. We are looking for an experienced person to take on the Treasurer role, overseeing the financial operations of the organisation (which includes a museum shop), setting the budget and playing an active part in decision making as we undertake an ambitious development project.
We would normally expect trustees to prepare for and take part in 4–5 Board meetings per year. In addition, trustees will help develop key pieces of work. Overall, this will require about 50 hours over a year.
The role is an unpaid voluntary position. Reasonable travel expenses incurred taking part will be met.
We offer mutually devised mentoring and training opportunities, based upon the needs and interests of new trustees. The role can provide opportunities for the development of experiences and networks in the cultural sector and beyond.
