Closing Date: Open until filled. Based: Gerrards Cross, Buckinghamshire
Swarthmore Housing Society Ltd, originally established by the Society of Friends in 1945, is a not-for–profit residential care home with up to 40 residents, and 50 staff. Swarthmore trustees share a passion for our traditional faith-based values, and the aspiration to provide the best care possible which promotes and sustains the rights of our residents to have control over how they live. We support our residents in making their own decisions and freely expressing their wishes and preferences. We maintain the home and facilities to a high standard of safety and comfort.
We currently seek an honorary treasurer with an interest in or knowledge of the health and wellbeing of older people to assist the business manager and accountant to monitor the organisation’s income and expenditure position, and present accessible reports to ensure board members understand the accounts and implications.
Our trustees meet approximately monthly on zoom or in person.
A suitable financial background and a general understanding of the regulation and other implications of residential care for older people would be helpful.
You will be required to apply for an enhanced DBS clearance.
It is no longer a requirement to be a Quaker, we encourage applicants from all backgrounds.
