Emerging Voices music and mental-health charity is currently looking for a treasurer to join its board. Emerging Voices is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) founded in 2019 and registered in England with the Charity Commission (charity number 1183043). The charity aims to promote the social inclusion and realise the musical aspirations of adults with lived-experience of mental ill-health, through offering music-based opportunities such as choirs, open-mic nights, individual tuition, recording opportunities and song-writing projects.
The treasurer is a charity trustee and oversees the accounts, which are prepared by the charity’s administrator. They produce a short financial report for each board meeting based on these accounts, and advise the board on financial matters. The treasurer also leads in submitting the final annual accounts to the Charity Commission. Other general responsibilities includes attendance at bi-monthly board meetings.
Preferably we are looking for somebody with professional experience in the financial sector and skills in bookkeeping. Experience of charity finances would be a particular advantage.
