Since 1989, Sreepur Village has been the only residential charity in Bangladesh providing distressed and mother-led families with a path to a secure, healthy, and sustainable future. We offer a safe haven where destitute single mothers and their children can rebuild their lives with confidence, dignity, and strength.
We’re seeking a Treasurer to join our UK Board of Trustees in an unpaid, voting role. You’ll work alongside our UK Operations Manager and board to oversee the financial health and sustainability of Sreepur Village, ensuring our resources effectively support vulnerable families in Bangladesh.
Key responsibilities include overseeing financial affairs and accounting practices, holding monthly budget reviews, managing relationships with auditors and investment fund managers, and introducing robust financial forecasting systems. You’ll attend at least three board meetings annually and help shape our strategic direction.
We’re looking for someone with proven senior-level financial management experience, familiarity with charity accounting and Charity Commission requirements, and genuine compassion for our mission. Knowledge of Bangladesh or similar cultures would be valuable. This is a chance to make a real difference to families breaking free from poverty
