Seeta Patel Dance (SPD) makes performance art rooted in Bharatanatyam that challenges existing perceptions and perspectives. The company became an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation in 2023.

Since its inception, the company has blazed a trail of high-quality work, bringing together exceptional artists with and without disabilities, creating powerful and engaging performances for audiences of all ages, reaching over 30,000 people across the world.
In 2024, Seeta Patel’s staging of The Rite of Spring was nominated for an Olivier Award for the Best Dance Production, making her the first South Asian Woman to be nominated in the category and the first woman of colour in the 40+ year history of the awards. The company was also nominated for Best Independent Company and Best Classical Choreography (for the Rite of Spring) by the National Dance Awards (2023).
