The Violence Intervention Project (VIP) reduces youth violence by addressing one of its most hidden drivers: shame. Our core programme, Urban Therapy, delivers long-term therapeutic outreach to young people aged 12–25 at risk of serious youth violence, and their families, across Hammersmith & Fulham, Hounslow, Ealing and Harrow, expanding into Brent. Alongside this, The Shame Initiative (TSI) trains and consults with practitioners, academics, funders and policymakers, aiming to shift how the wider sector responds to shame and violence – it trained over 100 professionals in its first quarter alone.
This is a pivotal financial moment for VIP: we’ve brought on a new accountancy partner, are moving onto Xero, and are consolidating our financial policies into a clearer framework. We’ve also just completed a governance review and welcomed two new trustees.
We’re looking for a Treasurer to lead the Board’s financial oversight – working closely with our CEO and Director of Operations & Delivery – bringing rigour to a strengthening financial base while supporting income diversification through trusts and grants, social value, and TSI’s growing earned income. We warmly welcome applicants with lived experience of the issues we work on, alongside financial expertise.
Based: West London but the treasurer role can be remote
