Quench Arts is a Community Interest Company based in Birmingham which runs participatory music projects making a positive difference to people’s lives: nurturing artistic talent and progression in areas where opportunities may be limited; engaging disadvantaged individuals and communities in positive activity through creative music-making to improve wellbeing, community cohesion and/or build transferable skills. We also help others develop their community arts practice.
Quench Arts’ projects are delivered across 4 strands: wellbeing, early years, young people and training. Our wellbeing strand is our largest, with a particular focus on mental health. Our programmes benefit individuals who are isolated, marginalised or vulnerable, with many participants facing intersectional challenges.
We are seeking a Treasurer (a Voluntary Non-Executive Director role) to help ensure that our formal Board and Quench Arts Advisory Board (QAB) make informed decisions about any programme or organisational changes. The Treasurer will help support Executive Directors to review and improve the organisation’s financial systems, reporting and processes as well as help strengthen the confidence of the board and QAB in financial governance. Input on helping us progress from reliance on grant funding to more diverse income streams, whilst keeping our vision, mission and ethos at heart, would be appreciated.
