Saltire Thistle Football Club is Glasgow’s LGBTQ+ inclusive football club, founded in 2010 to provide a safe, welcoming space for LGBTQ+ people to play football, meet new people and be part of a supportive community. The club now brings together a diverse, mixed‑ability membership and offers regular training, matches, social events and wider community activity. Saltire Thistle is committed to promoting inclusion and challenging discrimination in sport, working with partners across the LGBTQ+ and wider community. In 2025, the club celebrated its 15th anniversary and was recognised nationally, winning both the Football v Homophobia Grassroots Clubs Award and the FvH Scotland Award for its impact and dedication to LGBTQ+ inclusion.
The opportunity is to join the club’s committee as Treasurer, supporting the financial management and long‑term sustainability of this award‑winning community organisation. The role involves tracking income and expenditure, preparing financial updates, managing payments, ensuring good financial processes, and contributing to funding, grant and sponsorship work. The Treasurer will play a key part in helping the club grow and continue providing inclusive football opportunities. This voluntary position offers valuable experience in budgeting, financial planning, reporting and collaborative leadership within a values‑driven club working alongside a passionate committee.
