The Victoria League is seeking an honorary treasurer who would be interested in supporting one of the principal, albeit in its case small, Commonwealth Charities of long standing.
The Victoria League for Commonwealth Friendship (to give it its full title) is a UK charity founded in 1901 with the objective of advancing education and educational programmes within the Commonwealth and supporting Commonwealth students who wish to study in London. It is one of the four Loyal Charities of HM The King, its Patron, it having as its previous Patron HM The Late Queen Elizabeth II. It has as its centre and principal asset Student House which is located in Leinster Square W2 between Bayswater and Notting Hill Gate. Some 50+ mostly postgraduate students from Commonwealth countries are accommodated here in four adjoining buildings in hostel facilities with its offices, meeting and music rooms in one of them.
