We are a low-cost counselling charity which has been established since 1994, serving the residents of North Somerset. We have got an excellent reputation, with GPs, schools, CAMHS and other organisations making referrals to us. We offer counselling sessions to around 100 adults and 11-18 year olds every week and are filling a gap which exists for people who need mental health help who do not fit with NHS services or cannot afford the cost of private therapy. We help countless people who are in distress or at the lowest ebb of their lives, to feel better and gain hope for their futures.
We have been blessed to have a Treasurer for the last 12 years who chose to support Wellspring during part of his retirement from being an Accountant. The current role we are now looking to fill would be for a Finance Trustee who can also act as Company Secretary. This would involve having oversight of our accounting process using Sage and having general oversight of all our financial matters and forecasting. It would also involve communication with the Charity Commission and Companies House periodically. They would need to attend a Board Meeting with other Trustees every two months from 7-8.30 pm in Nailsea, North Somerset. They would liaise with the Director and Senior Administrator to check everything is being done as it should be.
