Woodcraft Folk is looking for a Volunteer Treasurer to join our Board of Trustees and help shape the future of our charity.
Woodcraft Folk is a movement for children and young people, empowering them to build a fairer, more sustainable world through co-operative play, education and outdoor activities. As Treasurer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our financial planning and governance is robust.
About the role
As a key member of our Board, you will:
– Oversee and ensure strong financial governance.
– Support budgeting, financial planning, and risk management.
– Scrutinise management accounts and annual reports.
– Advise on charity financial regulations and best practices.
– Act as a key point of contact for financial queries from staff and volunteers.
Commitment
– Attend six Trustee Board meetings and four Finance & General Purposes Committee meetings per year (a mix of online and in-person).
– Meet every 6-8 weeks with the Head of Resources for financial oversight.
Who we are looking for
– Financial qualification or relevant experience.
– Understanding of charity accounting & reporting.
– Ability to explain financial matters to non-finance professionals.
– Experience with governance and/or membership organisations (desirable).
