OBG is a County-wide voluntary charity group. Our charitable aims are:
- to promote for the public benefit, the conservation and protection of badgers, their setts & habitats in Oxfordshire & elsewhere, and
- to advance the education of the public on the ecology, behaviours & protected status of badgers, their setts & habitats.
This vacancy arises because our Treasurer is retiring, to spend more time in Scotland.
Our members come from across Oxfordshire (and beyond). Some support us by their annual subscription. Some administer our charity, manage our website & of course our finances. Others are active out in the field, surveying land for badgers and their habitats; rescuing injured badgers and those who get into various predicaments. We have recently completed a 7-year programme of vaccinating badgers, & also actively engaged in protesting the ongoing badger cull. Planning & development on badger land presents us with many challenges too.
Our new Treasurer is not required to join us out in the field but is very welcome to do so. We ask that they can demonstrate an interest in and commitment to our charitable aims, above.
