The Palestine Exploration Fund (PEF) now seeks to appoint a new Honorary Treasurer to its Board of Trustees for an initial 5-year term, starting in summer 2027.
The PEF was founded under the royal patronage of Queen Victoria in 1865 to promote research into the archaeology and history, manners and customs and culture, topography, geology and natural sciences of the southern Levant (Israel, Palestine, and parts of Jordan, Syria, and the Sinai). It is the world’s oldest learned society dedicated to the study of this region. The PEF is a non-partisan, non-religious, and non-profit organization that promotes the increase of knowledge about the Levant and the dissemination of that knowledge among a broad public audience.

Based: The PEF office, museum and archives are located in Greenwich, London.
