Dance Professionals Fund is an award-winning registered CIO providing financial and
wellbeing support to dancers, dance teachers and choreographers.
Description
We are seeking trustees to join us from January 2027 for an initial term of three years. We
are looking for a range of skills and experience, especially:
Background/experience in finance in a senior role or on a charity Board
Experience within a benevolent fund as staff or trustee
We welcome applications from anyone who is passionate about helping DPF achieve
our objectives. Full trustee training will be provided.
We encourage applicants from all backgrounds and especially those from Global Majority
groups. We are keen to add more voices with lived disability experience to the Board –
helping us evolve our aims with all disabilities in mind.
Salary
All Trustee roles are voluntary. We will cover travel costs of attending in-person
meetings, and other costs such as childcare when required.

Lewisham Speaking Up is a diverse and friendly independent advocacy charity in Lewisham, London. We are a rights-based organisation that have been supporting people with learning disabilities to speak up and get their voices heard for over 20 years. We all work together towards our vision for a society where people with learning disabilities are listened to, recognised, respected and included in all decisions about their lives.
The two main service areas are 1-2-1 advocacy and self-advocacy through various group activities. We are not part of council or any other organisation and can support people directly.
Our largest group is the quarterly People’s Parliament. In addition, we have several smaller self-advocacy groups. Through these groups people discuss topics that affect people with learning disabilities and the aim is to feed this through to decision makers and people in positions of power. These activities unite people with learning disabilities to support each other to have a stronger voice.
Our culture and values can be summarised as follows:
We work together to understand what people with learning disabilities want, support their independence by advocating for change outside statutory rules, build strength through collaboration, and treat everyone with kindness and respect.

Our trustees work mostly remotely with online Board meetings (1.5 hrs) and online Finance Subcommittee meetings (1 hr). Both happen 5 times a year.
Our Board and Staff Away Day (usually a Saturday in July), and our Annual General Meeting (AGM) take place in-person during November/December

Rose Road Association is a lifeline for many of the children and young people with complex disabilities and their families that we support in Hampshire and neighbouring counties. We offer a range of services from community outreach and activities led by the young person’s choice, out in the community or learning new skills through baking, craft or music. To overnight services, to socialise with other friends from Rose Road or have a bath which they may not have access to at home. This helps reduce loneliness, develops new skills and supports their independence as well as providing respite and reassurance to the family. We aspire for the whole family unit to thrive together and live a life well lived, with choice and opportunities.
We are currently looking for a new Treasurer Trustee as our current Treasurer is going onto pastures new after 5 years on the Board. We are looking for someone with a financial background and someone with a strong empathy with Rose Road’s Visions of a community where disabled people and their families can thrive, feel a sense of belonging and achieve their aspirations.

The Foulkes Foundation is a unique and highly respected medical charity. It brings science and medicine together for the benefit of mankind by giving maintenance grants to exceptional post-doctoral scientists wanting to study medicine.
The Foundation is family run with a “family” of Fellows and was excited to celebrate its 50th anniversary last year.
Finance Trustee Responsibilities
The Foundation is looking for someone to join the Board of Trustees as a second Finance Trustee. As well as a financial background, the Foundation is ideally looking for someone with experience in the medical or scientific field.
The Finance Trustees oversee and monitor the work of the Investment Manager (IM), attend quarterly online meetings with the IM and act as a liaison between the IM and the Board of Trustees. They have oversight of the Foundation’s costs and capital and use this information to guide the Trustees when appointing new Fellows each year.
The Finance Trustees attend two in-person Trustees Meetings a year in central London where they report back on the Investment Portfolio and the IM’s work.
The Finance Trustees are encouraged to be involved in all matters discussed and decisions taken by the Board (comprised of 9 Trustees), financial or otherwise.

Cherry Trees is a charity providing home from home short breaks for children with complex disabilities. We offer a lifeline to vulnerable children and their families. Woodcraft Folk is a movement for children and young people, empowering them to build a fairer, more sustainable world through co-operative play, education and outdoor activities. As Treasurer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring our financial planning and governance is robust.
About the role
As a key member of our Board, you will:

– Support budgeting, financial planning, and risk management.

– Advise on charity financial regulations and best practices.
– Act as a key point of contact for financial queries from staff and volunteers.
Commitment
– Attend six Trustee Board meetings and four Finance & General Purposes Committee meetings per year (a mix of online and in-person).
– Meet every 6-8 weeks with the Head of Resources for financial oversight.
Who we are looking for
– Financial qualification or relevant experience.
– Understanding of charity accounting & reporting.
– Ability to explain financial matters to non-finance professionals.
– Experience with governance and/or membership organisations (desirable).
