Disability Advice North East Suffolk is seeking a trustee with financial experience to be our Honorary Treasurer overseeing the charity’s financial governance and sustainability. You will work closely with fellow trustees to ensure strong financial management in support of our mission to be the ‘go to’ charity for people & organisations in North East Suffolk seeking to enableinform effect change for those who are living with disabilities.

You will be a key trustee so it would be desirable to have previous experience. You need to be a strategic thinker; a good communicator, particularly when explaining finances to non-financial people; be politically astute; not afraid to put forward ideas; a team player. All duties can be carried out remotely.

This is a year of change for the Charity as some long-serving trustees are stepping down and new ones are coming on board. 2026 is our 40th anniversary – a time to reflect on what we’ve achieved. We will be working with an external consultant to develop the skills needed going forward as trustees in a changing world and forming our new strategic plan to run from 2027-2030. That makes it a great time to join us.

We Stand supports parents and carers whose children have experienced sexual abuse. Our board plays a central role in shaping a safe, inclusive, and trauma‑informed organisation.

It is a great time to join us as we embark on developing our new strategy for 2027-2030. Our focus is on putting the needs of those we support at the heart of everything we do, with a clear commitment to Equality, Diversity and Inclusion. Our new strategy will embed lived experience at the core of decision making and further build a sustainable and robust organisation.

 

We are seeking a Board Treasurer with:

  1. Professional experience in finance, accountancy, audit, or charity financial management.
  2. Confidence in reviewing management accounts, cashflow forecasts, and year‑end financial statements.
  3. Ability to interpret financial information clearly for non‑finance trustees and support informed decision‑making.

 

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates who:

  1. Have Lived Experience of Child Sexual Abuse (CSA): Personal or professional direct and indirect experience of CSA or using CSA-related services
  2. Come from currently under‑represented background on our Board, including (but not limited to) people from Asian communities, Muslim communities, and people with disability.

We are based in London but cover the whole country and mainly work remotely.

The Loch Lomond & The Trossachs Countryside Trust (LLTCT) is seeking a new Trustee to serve as Treasurer.

Established in 2012, we’re a Scottish charity dedicated to nature restoration and community wellbeing within Loch Lomond & The Trossachs National Park.

As Treasurer, you will play a key role in guiding the charity’s financial strategy and helping to ensure its work continues to grow sustainably. The role involves providing strategic financial oversight, supporting the Board to make sound and well‑informed decisions, and helping to ensure strong governance and regulatory compliance. You will also contribute to the charity’s long‑term vision of a thriving natural environment and healthier communities (2023–2030 Strategy on our website).

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong financial management experience (charity sector experience is a bonus)

You’ll be part of a friendly and committed board team, attending around six hybrid meetings per year, with occasional tasks in between.

This is an opportunity to join the Board of Trustees at Stepping Stones North Wales (SSNW) and help shape our future. As Treasurer, you will support financial sustainability and vital counselling services for adult survivors of childhood sexual abuse across North Wales.

 

The Treasurer is responsible for overseeing the Charity’s financial affairs in line with best practice, the governing document, and all legal and regulatory requirements. They will regularly report to the Board of Trustees on the organisation’s financial position and overall financial health. The Treasurer will ensure that robust and appropriate financial controls, systems, and procedures are in place and operating effectively.

 

We’re looking for a financially confident, values-driven individual who can bring clarity and sound judgement to financial matters. You’ll be comfortable managing budgets, interpreting financial data, and communicating insights clearly. A qualified accountant (or equivalent experience) is preferred, with training available for those new to charity finance.

The Foulkes Foundation is a unique and highly respected medical charity. It brings science and medicine together for the benefit of mankind by giving maintenance grants to exceptional post-doctoral scientists wanting to study medicine.

 

The Foundation is family run with a “family” of Fellows and was excited to celebrate its 50th anniversary last year.

 

Finance Trustee Responsibilities

 

The Foundation is looking for someone to join the Board of Trustees as a second Finance Trustee. As well as a financial background, the Foundation is ideally looking for someone with experience in the medical or scientific field.

 

The Finance Trustees oversee and monitor the work of the Investment Manager (IM), attend quarterly online meetings with the IM and act as a liaison between the IM and the Board of Trustees. They have oversight of the Foundation’s costs and capital and use this information to guide the Trustees when appointing new Fellows each year.

 

The Finance Trustees attend two in-person Trustees Meetings a year in central London where they report back on the Investment Portfolio and the IM’s work.

 

The Finance Trustees are encouraged to be involved in all matters discussed and decisions taken by the Board (comprised of 9 Trustees), financial or otherwise.

The Board has ultimate responsibility for the governance of Thames Reach. As a board member, in partnership with Board colleagues, you are responsible for determining Thames Reach’s objectives and policies, the acquisition and use of resources in order to achieve the organisation’s aims, the overall control of Thames Reach’s operations and for appointing and, if necessary, dismissing the Chief Executive.   

 

As well as interest in and commitment to ending street homelessness as a board member and the ability and interest in providing strategic oversight for the organisation, we are hoping to recruit members with specific skills in finance/accounting.

 

We are looking for candidates with knowledge of financial management in medium-large complex organisations, particularly those with knowledge of Charity Statement of Recommended Practice (SORP) requirements.

The Gardens Trust is the only UK national charity dedicated to conserving historic parks and gardens for everyone to enjoy today and in future. We campaign for them, undertake research and conservation work, and encourage public appreciation and involvement. We are a statutory consultee in the English planning system, publish an internationally respected journal, and are passionate about having an impact in local communities. We work closely with volunteers in 35 County Gardens Trusts and also the Welsh Historic Gardens Trust.

The ideal candidate may have an interest in gardens and garden history, but more important is a desire to support a small, established and ambitious organisation, and a willingness to learn and adapt skills to our needs are the most important qualities we are looking for.
